Ah yes, "healthcare" for the poor and middle class is the emergency room for repubs. Ever been to the emergency room on any given day? Try getting out in less than 4-8 hours. Then watch the enormous bills you get slammed with by the time you open your mailbox.
We all know that if you have a significant health problem as a kid, it follows you for the rest of your life. I recently met a repub that was so stupid that he said he would not want an "affordable" heart operation if his 3-year old kid was dying. If he couldn't pay for it or his insurance couldn't foot the bill, he'd rather the kid die, because "that's the way the world works."
How'd you like to be that jackass's son! No, I mean, how'd you like to have his DNA? Makes a good case for murder-suicide.
We are living in Alice in Wonderland times, Don. No matter what is sensible, the government, politicians, corporations, and media establishments tell us that we really don't want what we want — what we really want is more tax breaks for the uber-rich!
